Theatre Nohgaku, in partnership with Kita Ryu Shite-kata Kinue and Teruhisa Oshima offer ongoing online noh utai (chant) instruction. This opportunity is open to anyone who has ever participated in any of TN’s NTP projects worldwide or has participated in the Introductory Online Utai Class (see link below). There is no better time to continue developing your breath and chant.

Who
Our team of instructors currently includes Kinue Oshima, Teruhisa Oshima, Richard Emmert and John Oglevee.
Lessons with Kinue and or Teruhisa are 30 minutes long and are taught in Japanese with an additional charge for English interpretation. Lessons with Rick or John are 30 minutes long and taught in English.
What
Lessons with Kinue or Teruhisa will focus on either your choice of utai, or the instructors recommendation.
Cost
Lessons in Japanese with Kinue or Teruhisa are ¥4000 for 30 minutes.
English interpretation is an additional ¥1000 per session
Lessons in English with Rick or John are ¥2500 for 30 minutes
Payments are non-refundable, but can be transferred to a later date if requested 24 hours in advance.
How
To join the mailing list and receive the url and password to sign up for classes. Attend at least one Introduction to online Noh Noh class or emailing us with proof of some experience in noh. Then sign up for lessons on our our scheduling website which will be provided once your .
Cancellation
TN understands schedule fluctuations and you are welcome to cancel lessons and reschedule up to 24 hours before your scheduled meeting time. Cancellations less than 24 hours before the start of the lesson and no-shows will be charged 100%.
Available times for scheduled lessons are limited, and early registration and payment is encouraged in order to ensure your place.
